Community Information for Ivybridge

Ivybridge Community Association

We are an umbrella organisation for Community Groups wishing to use the Community Centre.  We aim to own and manage the Community Centre and to promote social and recreational activities for the benefit of members and those living within Ivybridge and surrounding area.  Membership subscriptions are £1.00 per annum (yes only one pound) – payable at the Annual General Meeting.  Members can then have the Community Centre at the reduced membership rate for functions.

 

Our most memorable event in 1999 was receiving a lottery grant of £45,000 to enable purchase of Chapel Place from the Town Council.  We have also succeeded in our aim to raise enough funding to develop our Millennium Garden, which is a beautiful tranquil oasis, and has won the “Best Community Garden” for the past 3 years.

2009 saw us celebrate 10 years of ownership of Chapel Place and 15 years of running it as a Community Centre.
