Leisure and Sport
Ivybridge Horse Show
There are around 100 community groups in Ivybridge involved in activities such as theatre, arts & crafts, scouting, sports, etc. The majority are well subscribed and there is generally a group to cater for most ages and interests.
Ivybridge has a strong sporting background, which is reflected in the number of sports clubs and facilities to be found within the town and in the “Specialist Sports College” status proudly held by the Community College. Opportunities for more informal leisure pursuits are provided by the town’s public open spaces which include Woodlands Park, Victoria Park, Filham Park, the Leonards Road skateboard park, Longtimber Woods etc.
Opportunities for walking and rambling are provided by the town’s network of public footpaths and by access to the “Erme Valley Trail” and the “Two Moors Way”.
The town enjoys a burgeoning calendar of events throughout the year, with highlights that include the Filham Fun Day, Ivybridge Horse Show and Christmas Parade & Lights Switch On.
With so much on offer, there’s never been a better time to get out, get active and make friends in Ivybridge!
