There are many places to visit in and around Ivybridge. Listed here are just a few, you can find more information about things to do from the Ivybridge Tourist Information Centre.


South Dartmoor Leisure Centre,
Ivybridge, Tel: 01752 896999.
Two leisure pools, one indoor, and one outdoors.
The centre also has facilities for playing squash and badminton,
a fully equipped multi gym, restaurant and bar.
The centre runs many events and activities throughout the year,
which is why the leisure centre is one of the best in the South
Hams.

LUKESLAND GARDENS
Just north of Ivybridge on the Harford Road lie Lukesland Gardens, 24 acres of stunning rhododendrons, azaleas, champion trees and wild flowers, bordering the charming Addicombe Brook as it meanders through pools and tumbles over waterfalls. These gardens, described by one visitor as 'as wee bit of heaven on your doorstep', are open in 2007 from 2pm - 6pm on Sunday, Wednesday and Bank Holiday Monday's from 1st April to 17 June plus all Saturday afternoons in May. In the Autumn they are open from 14 October to 11 November from 11am - 4pm (soup and bread lunches available). A new Children's Trail is devised every year to keep youngsters amused and the home made cakes, served by a log fire in the Victorian Billiard Room, are also very popular.

Woodlands Leisure Park, Blackawton,
Totnes, South Devon, TQ9 7DQ, Tel: 01803 712598.
Set in woodlands this adventure park is a must for adults and
children alike. Rides include the mighty Twister, the ultimate
water ride, or the Tornado Toboggan run. There is also 14 mega
play-zones plus 4 special zones for the toddlers. The centre
has 36,000sq. ft. of indoor play, Woodlands is the big fun day
out for all the family. Also includes refreshments, gift shop,
car park and caravan park.

One of England's largest Zoo's, Paignton Zoo is a registered charity dedicated to protecting our global wildlife heritage. Various attractions including the Ape Centre, the Flamingo Lagoon, the Elephant and Giraffe Centre, not forgetting the Big Cat Enclosure.
You can take a ride on the Jungle Express Miniature Railway and then visit the restaurant for refreshments. They also have a gift shop and a car park.

Experience a whole new world down on the farm. Different activities every half hour, from bottle feeding a lamb, to flying a barn owl. Try to complete the wildlife commando course. Includes a discovery trail, shop and Devon farmhouse kitchen, it all adds up to a great day out.
