Saturday 4th June

Join us on Fore Street & Glanvilles Mill on Saturday 4th June 10:00 – 14:00 as we come together as a community to celebrate the Queen’s historic reign and Platinum Jubilee.

The Town Council, along with Miss Ivy Events, Fore Street and Glanvilles Mill have pulled out all the stops to mark this tremendous achievement with a magnificent, delightfully nostalgic, fun-packed day for all the family.

There will be tables and benches so you can bring your own picnic or take advantage of the local cafes, street food stalls, ice cream van and our Pimms bar too. Or if you prefer, indulge in a traditional cream-tea. Then why not take a wander around the gift market where local crafters will be selling their wares, and follow the jubilee trail around the local shops.

Meanwhile be made in the shade in Fore Street where we’re going all out to channel the 1950s. Steve Roffey will have you jiving to 50’s tunes (10:30 – 11:15 & 12:00 – 12:45)

Watch as tiny (and maybe not so tiny) faces light up with delight at our traditional Punch & Judy Show. Beloved by generations, this show is for the whole family and features the hilarious antics of Mr Punch and his long-suffering wife Judy! Performances at 11:15 – 11:45 & 13:00 – 13:30.

Then, let your little ones Splat-The-Rat, or send coconuts flying at the Coconut Shy in the traditional games area.

Refuge4Pets will be hosting a dog show for the pooches starting at 11:00 in Glanvilles Mill with rosettes for the top 3 in each class!

Get in the spirit and have your face painted with Karen Mills (small charge applies) 11:00 – 14:00

Join the Helen White Quartet who will be bringing Jazz vibes to the day at 11:30 – 12:00/ 13:00 – 13:45.

Entry is free of charge, and most entertainment is free apart from the dog show which is for charity.
